Young Enterprise is offered as an enrichment programme at Kingsbury Sixth Form. Participating in Young Enterprise enables our students to develop the life skills, knowledge and confidence they need to succeed in the changing world of work. Student participation with the activities promotes personal development and provides evidence of extra-curricular engagement, supporting their employment and high education choices.
Kingsbury Sixth Form has had a great deal of success in Young Enterprise over recent years. Our students have gained first-hand experience of business and entrepreneurship by setting up and running their own companies and producing and selling goods and services, both inside and outside of school.
The success of each group’s business rests heavily on the imagination and determination of the students and the opportunities they use to make their businesses thrive, through the use of innovative marketing and business strategies. Every year, students have the opportunity to partake in business competitions, competing against 3,000 other teams across the UK.
With impressive trade stands and presentations, Kingsbury Sixth Form teams have excelled, reaching the West London and London final stages in recent years. Throughout their journeys, each member of the team develops the skill of teamwork and organisation, as well as learning how to enhance their business and marketing techniques. Each group must also complete a variety of tasks including producing company reports, financial documents and adverts, as well as designing a website. As a result, our students enhance their interpersonal skills, through public presentations and interacting with potential buyers. We are very proud of Kingsbury Sixth Form Students’ commitment to Young Enterprise and we look forward to facilitating their successes in the coming years.
