Centenary

In 2025 Kingsbury celebrated 100 years as a school.  The origins of our current school go back to 1925 when the Kingsbury County School, with 71 pupils, was established in a building which had been the main office in Colindale of the former Aircraft Manufacturing Company.

100 years is a long time, the question was how to mark this historic moment in the school's history. Kingsbury has had many notable alumni from Dennis H Osborne, Artist, in the 1920s and 30s to Charlie Watts (drummer for the Rolling Stones) 1950s, and The Sug babes more recently. How do you represent those 100 years where George Michael attended as well as the current chair of the Supreme Court of Great Britain and the Commonwealth, Lady Rose?

We had two weekends of celebrations, beyond the assemblies that every student received on our history. The first weekend we were lucky enough to have a dinner dance for alumni with an excellent band of former students, The Old Kings. The main event was a weekend in July where students old and new were able to come and either reminisce about their time in school or wonder at our long history. Several hundred people attended and were able to review our extensive archive, perhaps to find pictures of themselves, entertained via music from KAOS, the (old) school choir and jazz from Dave Green, all supplemented by our own current students who played fantastic sets both Saturday and Sunday. There was even an Old Kingsburian cricket match.

We are seeking to raise £50000 to develop state-of-the-art music and drama studios on the Upper School site. Please see our Music & Performing Arts Vision brochure below for more details.

How can I contribute?

Support or a donation (however large or small) is appreciated and will mean that we can extend the opportunities available to our students and community.

We have set up a Just Giving page to facilitate donations:
