Cambridge Technical Introductory Diploma

Equivalent in size to 1 A-Level

The Introductory Diploma  a specialist qualification that focuses on the vocational and professional aspects of Art and Design. The One mandatory unit and five specialist options allow you to experience a broad range of art and design activities including a personally selected option  which you will develop into a final major project. Cambridge Technical's are exam-free so suit all learning styles

The introductory Diploma is equivalent to ONE GCE A Level.

Optional Units:

  • How artists use 2D media
  • How artists use 3D media
  • Illustration and graphics
  • Fashion Design
  • Own option

All units are internally marked and externally moderated.

There is no exam.

Careers - This course is also about progression as it is designed to help you build up a portfolio of work that will enable you to apply to a higher education course in your chosen specialist area if you are considering a career in the creative arts or are seeking progression to higher education. Past students on these vocational courses have gone on to study film-making, photography, architecture, graphic design, fine art, fashion management and illustration at college and university

Skills - This multi-disciplinary course covers a wide range of skills and techniques in Art and Design.  The  mandatory unit looks at key trends, movement and events in the context of a chosen art or design discipline. The optional units provide the opportunity to undertake specific specialist pathways in Photography, Graphic design, 3D design, Fashion, and can   tap into what you enjoy, feel good at and find familiar as well as challenge you to learn new skills and techniques.

Requirements - Students need access to the Internet, PC and their own external hard drive.
