High School

BTEC Health and Social Care is an interesting, engaging and challenging subject to take in the sixth-form.  BTEC qualifications are designed to provide highly specialist, work-related qualifications in a range of vocational sectors. They give students  the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to prepare for employment.   The course provides career development opportunities for those already in work, and progression opportunities to higher education, degree and professional development programmes within the same or related areas of study, within universities and other institutions. Examples of University courses that our students have done so far are:    midwifery, child and adult nursing, psychotherapy, sociology, paramedic, social work and a variety of other roles.
