Examinations 2021

Update 6th January 2021

  1. We are aware of the Government's announcements regarding summer exams earlier this week.  Once we have further clarity from the examination regulator and boards the school will contact all students in Years 10-13 who have examinations this summer.
  2. Vocational examinations scheduled for January 2021 will run as normal for those students who are well, able to get to school safely and wish to complete them.  If a student is not able or feel safe to attend a particular examination the school will work with the Examination Board to ensure they are not disadvantaged.  Mr Senior, Director of Sixth Form, has contacted individual students who are affected.

Update  19th August 2020

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the government has decided to cancel the summer 2020 exams. However, students entered for these exams will still receive a grade through the calculated grade system.   Please see this statement from the Chair of Ofqual Roger Taylor explaining what has happened.

The grade students will receive for GCSE and A-Level will now be either the Centre Assessed Grade submitted by the school or the grade moderated by the exam boards – whichever is higher.

Results days will still be the following:

AS/A-Level: Thursday 13th August 2020

GCSE: Thursday 20th August 2020

Students have received a letter explaining how results will be delivered to them electronically this year. An information pack for candidates is available in the links below on results, appeals and certificates.

Results cannot be given over the telephone or to third parties unless clear written instructions, signed by the student, have been received.
