On 12th October, a representative from Junk Kouture visited the Eco Club to talk to us about the sustainability of fast fashion. Junk Kouture is an initiative that challenges young people to create fabulous fashion entirely from recycled materials, and we have seen how car seat belts are one way forward to wear not only when in the car, but also when we go out. We have also learnt that currently, we will have enough clothing for the next ten generations if we stop production right at this second!
I really enjoyed attending the live workshop for Junk Kouture last week. It helped me and others get informed on fast fashion and how it majorly affects our earth. We also learnt about what we, as a whole, can do to reduce the over-consumption of clothing by participating in their exciting competitions. Thank you to Junk Kouture and Ms Torok for this wonderful opportunity! - Aayushi (Year 11)
