KHS Celebrates the European Day of Languages

There was bunting and baked goodies galore to mark the European Day of Languages at KHS on Tuesday, 26th September. The flags of the European countries really brightened up the Languages Block on the K site and Room 34 as well as the Languages Faculty Office on the T site. In the canteen, staff and students were treated to delicious pains au chocolat, Apfelstrudel, caramel-filled churros and pastéis de nata, which went like "hot cakes"! To give students an insight into the different European languages, teachers wrote the date in a different European language in lessons. Students showed off their language skills by greeting their teachers in a different language at the start of every lesson. Finally, to promote a bit of competition between the tutor groups, tutors led a European Day of Languages quiz and the winning tutor group will be treated to a big box of chocolates!
