Year 12 Visit to City University

On Thursday 6th of July, The Sixth Form team and a select group of A-level/BTEC teachers took 145 Year 12 students to City University in London. As a part of the day, the students had the opportunity to meet university ambassadors who are currently studying undergraduate and postgraduate courses, have a personalised tour of the campus and learn more about university life in general. This included how universities are different to Sixth Form and whether to study in London or elsewhere. The students were also given top tips on writing effective personal statements and applying through UCAS, along with some information about Student Finance. Some students also had the opportunity to attend taster sessions in the following subject areas: Engineering, Computing and Mathematics. The students enjoyed their day out and many commented that the trip has inspired them to start working on their personal statements!
