During the visit from a South Korean middle school, Year 10 students from the Eco Club enjoyed two days of international friendship, cultural discovery and shared learning. The visiting students were introduced to one of Britain’s most iconic sports, cricket, where they enthusiastically learnt the basic skills of batting, bowling and fielding. Afterwards, they took part in an interactive English lesson focused on exploring the concept of “Britishness.” This session encouraged thoughtful discussion about national identity and cultural values, culminating in the creation of personal poems in which each student expressed who they are and what makes them unique.
Both our school and the South Korean visitors exchanged lively presentations about daily school life, comparing school lessons, uniforms and extracurricular activities. As part of a global citizenship workshop, all students explored how to recognise fake and real news, developing valuable digital literacy and critical thinking skills for life in an interconnected world.
