KHS Student Represents Middlesex at English Schools Athletics Championships
26th Jun 2023

Congratulations to Megan O -B in Year 11 who will represent Middlesex at the 2023 English Schools Athletics Championships at the end of June. The event will take place in Birmingham at the Alexander Stadium which was used for the Commonwealth Games last year.

These championships are often described as 'the school Olympics' and have been a stepping stone for many elite athletes and future champions such as Sir Mo Farah and Dina Asher-Smith.

Megan is a talented sprinter who runs both the 100 and 200 metres, and her personal best time in the 100m is 12.40 seconds.

She trains with Track Academy who are based at Willesden Sports Centre, and competes for Thames Valley Harriers who are one of the UK's most successful clubs. When she is not training, Megan also mentors younger students at Track Academy.

Megan has shown great resilience and determination in combining her athletics training three times a week with her GCSE studies. Megan always pushes herself to improve and do better, and her selection for the championships is recognition for all the hard work she has put in over the years.

Kingsbury High School wishes Megan and the Middlesex Schools Team every success for these championships!
