On Friday 36 colleagues and governors joined us for the annual Dimond Quiz and raised close to £100 which the winning team (third in a row for most members of the team) get to choose which charity we will donate to. It is a great event to learn new useless facts, meet new colleagues, catch up with older ones and relax after work on a Friday. It is held in honour of Hilary Dimond who died in June 2020; Hilary was that person on staff who you could go to to find anything, including advice and a supportive wry smile when times were hard. It’s just one of the events we put on for staff wellbeing, and something she would have thoroughly approved of.
Another such event was the new staff tea party we held on September 7th, a very long standing event which pretty much does what it says on the tin. One new colleague has already made contact with her old school to suggest they do something similar for their staff. It’s noce to know that Kinsbury HIgh School traditions have a wider impact than just our staff!
