High School


Physical Education at Kingsbury High provides the bedrock for all students' physical, mental and social wellbeing. Students will have the opportunity to explore and develop skills in a range of sporting activities inside and outside of their lessons. Through the various activities students will develop their communication, trust, tolerance, independence, team work and understanding of fairness and respect.

Year 9 Options

We offer a number of extracurricular clubs that take place before schools, during lunch time and after school. These clubs change every half term in order for us to maximise participation, they may range from football, netball, basketball, badminton, dodgeball, tennis, table tennis, cricket, rounders, and athletics. We also offer team training for those who wish to go on to compete against other schools and take part in various competitions.



We run many additional activities to train students up to become either qualified leaders of indeed specialist training for specific events.

Duke of Edinburgh

We offer the Bronze, Silver and Gold award to students starting in Y9 and leading through to Y12. Students take part in 4 -5 different sections including

- Skills

- Physical

- Volunteering

- Expedition 

- Residential for Gold participants. 



We offer a range of trips during the course of the year taking students to fixtures, events and to visit stadiums. Students also have the chance to be part of football, netball or cricket tour.

All students are encouraged to develop their interests by participating in a range of extra-curricular and enrichment activities. Clubs, Competitions and Trips offered at KHS all provide opportunities for students to widen their experiences. 

KHS has a wealth of opportunities for our students to get involved in sport, which range from having a focus on inclusively, mass participation as well as the opportunity to represent the school through competitive teams in a range of sports such as Athletics, Badminton, Basketball,Cricket, Football, Netball, Rounders, Rugby, and Volleyball.  All of which involves taking part in fixtures and tournaments against other schools in the Brent area. 

 We also enter students into Brent Athletics which is held annually at Willesden  Sport Center. There is also a Gymnastic competition every year where local secondary schools are invited to compete and display their hard work.  In addition we also run three successful tours for the boys Year 9 Cricket and Football teams and the girls Year 9 Netball team. We also run a  School Sports Day which takes place on the T field every Summer and a Sports Awards Evening to recognise the efforts and successes of our students throughout the year.
