Attendance & Absence Reporting
Good attendance at Kingsbury High School is considered 97% and above. Every day of absence reduces a student’s attendance by 0.5%.
You can check your child’s attendance on the SIMS Parent App.
If your child’s attendance is below 90% they will be considered to be persistently absent. Any further absence will be unauthorised and the Local Authority’s Educational Welfare Officer (EWO) will begin investigations. Further absences at this rate of attendance will not be authorised unless medical evidence is provided from a GP.
We do not authorise holidays during term time. Any holidays taken during term time may result in a fixed penalty notice being issued to you. If there is a compelling and exceptional case for requesting absence during term time, please write directly to the Headteacher. His decision will be final.
If there is a good reason to report your child absent, you can either reply to the absence text alert that will be sent to you if your child is not marked present in the morning or email: firstname.lastname@example.org before 08.30am.
