High School

Regional Rotary Young Competition

KHS was proudly represented at the Regional finals of the Regional Rotary Young Competition by Maria in Year 8. She qualified for the competition which took place on 7th March 2020    after excelling in the school and district finals. According to her Mum who accompanied her to the competition "She did very well in the competitions and it has been a great experience for her"

Although Maria did not win the regional finals her achievements overall have been a source of inspiration to other students. She had great fun participating and her passion for cooking and skills have greatly improved.

"I enjoyed the rotary competitions. This was a huge experience for me and I am very proud to be a young chef. The kitchens were huge- very different to the kitchen at home or in school.I would like to thank the rotary club for my custom chef’s jacket- I love it! It was also great to meet a lot of wonderful people. I am very grateful for the opportunity and excited about next year's cooking competitions"

We wish her the best in future cooking competitions and any other talents she pursues in the future.

A special thanks to her parents for their amazing support. Also special thanks to Mr Ejaz, Mrs Hirani, Mr Desmond our caretakers, members of the cooking club and everyone that had supported her throughout the competitions.
