Evening Classes
The evening class, which is held every Monday from 18.30 to 20.30, has been running since 2001. The staff, currently responsible for the delivery of the teaching, are James Appleby and Anita Yao, whilst Vinod Parmar provides the technical support when needs arise as well as teaching. The aim of the evening class is to provide basic knowledge in ICT to the local adult community. The students learn how to use e-mail, the internet and Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Publisher, Excel and PowerPoint. Besides providing basic knowledge in ICT, we also aim to provide basic skills including e-mailing and browsing the internet, as well as some skills such as word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheet and presentations for the local adult community. Since 2001, approximately 200 people have enrolled on the course. In 2009, there are approximately 15 to 20 students attending each class every Monday evening. The classes are conducted in an informal, friendly and helpful manner. The course is free of charge. Our current teaching staff:
Vinod Parmar
Vinod is a member of our ICT technical team and he has been working in Kingsbury High School since 2003. The daily maintenance tasks required on the school large network system and the needs of teaching staff keep Vinod on his feet all day long. Yet he is persistently coming to the Evening Class to support the local community. Vinod is a friendly, quiet-spoken, patient and extremely helpful member of staff. [image provided by The School]

James is an engineer currently working for the national rail network and was formerly a student at Kingsbury High School. He has worked with our ICT technical team, building and maintaining the school network system while studying at university for his Masters Degree. As an engineer, James is naturally technically minded. After a whole day of hard work managing the rail network, James is still eager to attend the Evening Class. He is a hardworking, friendly, patient and helpful member of staff. [image taken by Steve]
