Kingsbury High School has seen many changes since its foundation as a small selective fee paying school of some 71 pupils and eight teachers in 1925. The School progressed and successfully evolved throughout the 20th century, retaining a distinct identity that has been so much a part of the School’s history. From a small, almost family establishment it became a ‘County School’, ‘County Grammar’, Comprehensive High School, Grant Maintained and now Foundation. The amalgamation with the local Tylers Croft (boys’ and girls’) Secondary Modern in 1967 had the most significant impact, as the new Kingsbury was an amalgam of three schools.

Kingsbury is now a multi ethnic community of approximately 2000 students, serving essentially the Kingsbury area of North Brent. Our pupils come from a variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds all of which serves to enrich and maintain the long traditions established in the school. Over the years Governors have invested substantially to improve the fabric of the institution in recognition of the increasing numbers and provide quality education, meeting the needs of young people in the ever changing and evolving world society. New teaching blocks equipped with specialist facilities such as technology, science and computing have all been added to complement the much admired architectural heritage of the original buildings. It was from here that Her majesty the Queen chose to launch the Royal Website in 1996.

Kingsbury has a strong academic tradition. Our public examinations performances are well above local and national standards. Each year the majority of our sixth formers progress onto courses in higher education with a representative sample gaining places at Oxford and Cambridge.

The School has many strengths. With a staff of over 200, (teaching and support) the ethos is very much based on the partnership between staff, parents and the wider community working together to provide a programme of academic and enrichment activities from which all pupils learn. Beyond the classroom, our extensive extra curricular opportunities and a long tradition of service to the community through fund raising and involvement mark a uniqueness of Kingsbury. We have a supportive environment in which staff and student work together in mutual respect to maintain high standards of expectations, personal conduct and achievement. Our aim is to provide the highest possible standard of education for all pupils and a curriculum that allows everyone to achieve to their potential, ability, talents and interests.
