Kingsbury High School is a Foundation School. The School is
located in the north of the London Borough of Brent on two adjacent sites – one
housing Years 7 – 9 and the other Years 10 – 13. All buildings stand in very
pleasant parkland and there are extensive playing fields. The School is
accessible both by bus and London Underground (Jubilee Line).
The
attractive buildings have considerable specialist accommodation with the
addition of three new teaching blocks: one for music and Drama and one for Art
and ICT in the lower School and one for Science and Technology in the Upper
School. Other specialist accommodation includes: teaching areas for CDT, 7
computer networks, in addition to many free-standing machines, 4 home Economics
rooms, 2 Gymnasia and a Sports Hall, 2 Libraries, Open Learning Centres
(including extensive computing, satellite and audio/visual equipment), a Careers
Centre, 6 Art rooms including pottery facilities, a Business Education suite and
13 Science Laboratories. Learning support includes provision for hearing
impaired students integrated into the School.
The School enjoys a high
level of parental regard and is oversubscribed each year. The standard intake
number is 300. At present there are 1957 pupils on roll, including 405 pupils in
the Sixth Form.
The school has 147 full-time equivalent teachers,
supported by 49 administrative, technical and clerical staff.
