|For most of the school year, every three weeks there is an “Excel Day”. Well, every sixteen school days, actually. Why every sixteen days? That’s so that each time it falls on a different day of the week.
Excel Day plans for each year group are set out at the start of the school year and provide opportunities for:
- Enrichment activities
- Opportunities for students in the Foundation Stage to work towards the Kingsbury Guarantee and build up their portfolio of experiences
- Fieldwork visits
- The development of skills and cross curricular approaches
- Extended coursework
- Examination preparation
- Residential experiences
The second half of the summer term is slightly different because of examinations: we save up a couple of Excel days and put three of them together towards the end of the term.
